CHENNAI: The Cafe Coffee Day and FLAME (Foundation for Liberal and Management Education) together launched the ‘Scholar Hunt’ programme in varied disciplines, in the city on Tuesday. Keeping true to their tag line, A lot can happen over coffee, any student who steps into a Cafe Coffee Day next time, can try their luck at the scholarships at the CCD counters.K Ramakrishnan, president-marketing, Cafe Coffee Day said, “CCD is one place, which sees a large aggregate of young people. We believe in giving education to those who are looking for a challenging curriculum.” Students who qualify for the scholarship will get an opportunity to study at the FLAME Campus in Pune.Indira J Parikh, president of FLAME and a former dean with the IIM-A said, “Being part of FLAME is an opportunity to be a part of an education revolution that breaks the formalism of the syllabus–bound system. We use a multi-disciplinary approach, anchored in liberal education with a complete focus on the personal growth of the students.” FLAME campus offers undergraduate programmes in Business and Management, Creative Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural sciences and other applied areas. And also a school of Business offering PGDM in Management, a school of communication offering PGDM in Mass media, and a School of performing Arts.Depending upon the merit and the need of the student, the scholarship will be decided by the committee, said the organisers. The students with high marks can win a 100 per cent scholarship and others have an opportunity to win scholarships which could cover 25 or 50 per cent of their tuition fees. This scholar hunt programme has a seed money of `five crores. The scratch cards are available at all CCD counters which gives a discount to buy the application forms.
