Around 70 heavily armed men suspected to be from the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) attacked seven posts of the Indian Reserve Battalion and snatched 20 weapons from the security personnel in Noney district of Imphal on Saturday.

The incident took place around 11am following which reinforcements were sent to the post and a search operation launched to track the militants.
“At least 70 heavily armed cadre suspected to be from th NSCN-IM raided the posts and fled with weapons,” a police source said.
