22-year-old tailor rapes girl in east Delhi

New Delhi: A young girl was allegedly raped by a 22-year-old tailor in east Delhi, police said on Sunday. The incident was reported from Chilla village near Mayur Vihar on Saturday and the arrested has been identified as Amjad Khan, who owns a shop in the locality.

The victim knew Amjad. The victim's parents approached police following which a medical examination was conducted at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital which confirmed rape. The victim told police that she knew Khan for past few months and on Saturday, he asked her to meet him at his shop.

"She told us that she was raped at his shop. She went home and narrated the incident to her parents who approached us," a senior police official said.
