BANGALORE: Two persons, including a software engineer, were killed in separate road accidents in the city.Sampath Srinivas (23), a techie in a company at White Field, died after a BMTC bus hit his bike near HAL police station on Vartur Main Road on Sunday night. He was a native of Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh residing at Kodihalli along with his friends.The police said that the accident took place when a speeding BMTC bus hit his bike from behind when he was going towards the police station on a Honda Dio. The wheel of the bus ran over him and he died on the spot. The bus driver abandoned the bus and fled the scene fearing public wrath.A postmortem was conducted at Bowring Hospital mortuary on Monday. Old Airport traffic police have registered a case and are on the look out for the absconding bus driver.In other case reported in Kamakshipalya traffic police station limits, Neelakantappa (48), a resident of Indira Priyadarshini Layout in Laggere, died after his moped was hit by a school van. The incident was reported in front of Patel Venkateshwara Complex on Kebbahalli Main Road in Sunkadakatte around 8.50am on Monday. The deceased was working as a security guard at a private firm at Annapurneshwarinagar.The accident took place when he was going for work on his moped. A school van hit his moped from behind and its rear wheel ran over his head killing him on the spot. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene, the police said.The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital mortuary. A case has been registered in Kamakshipalya traffic police station.
