VISAKHAPATNAM: Congress Rajya Sabha member T Subbarami Reddy on Friday started a 16-day Suryabhagavan yagna and Maha Mrityunjaya yagnam for speedy recovery of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, who underwent a surgery in the US recently.Talking to newsmen here, Reddy said Sonia Gandhi has played a major role in strengthening the Congress party. It was only due to her efforts that some of the MPs of the state could become ministers in the Central Cabinet, he added.Stating that Visakhapatnam-Shirdi weekly express train has been extended due to his efforts, Reddy said he would try to divert some more trains towards Visakhapatnam.Reddy, however, did not comment on the long pending demand of the people of Vizag for separate railway zone status to Visakhapatnam.
