How many times have you sat through a horror movie, hiding behind a pillow, KNOWING that the actor/actress is about to get smacked on the head? Probably a million times.
While Hollywood as well as Bollywood are well-versed with making films that make your skin crawl, they always have stock characters who make the same mistakes again and again. Be it walking down the dimly-lit basement (where OF COURSE they'll get trapped) or running from the murderer TOWARDS the forest instead of sticking to the well-lit road, these characters never learn.
Here we have listed a few mistakes that ALL the stock characters from horror films make. Every. Single. Time.
1) Go out alone to investigate a strange sound.
Why do you have to go alone, why?! At least take a flash-light with you!
2) Never have enough juice in your phone.
When you don't charge your phone properly, it dies on you. And then your chances of getting murdered increase exponentially. True story.
3) Get separated from the group.
Staying back, or going off on your own is a very bad idea. Every. Single. Time.
4) Think making a documentary on a haunted forest/castle/house is a good idea. Especially filming at night.
Nope, never a good idea.
5) Hide from the killer behind the door and whimper.
We know you're scared, but SHHHHHHHHHH! He'll hear you!
6) Don't call the police immediately.
"Oh, why don't I just go and investigate that super creepy house next door? Sounds like a totally safe, sane idea to me!" Oh come ON!
7) Always keep the lights turned off.
Sure, go ahead, walk all over the creaky floorboards, but at least TURN ON THE LIGHTS!
8) Shoot/hit the killer once, and assume he's dead.
They always come back, don't you know?!
9) Walk into spooky-looking shops that carry "evil" insignia.
Seriously. They should stick to Crossword or Landmark or Cafe Coffee Day.
10) Touch the blood/ Follow the blood trail.
You think that's gonna lead you to a house made of marshmallows?
