Using the X/Twitter App
Launch the X app on your mobile device. Make sure that your app is up to date and log in to your account, if you haven't already done so.
Navigate to the user's tweet that you want to retweet. You can only retweet tweets from public accounts. The retweet feature will not available for private accounts.
Tap the Retweet icon. It will be located at the bottom of the tweet. A tab will pop-up when you do so.
Tap on Quote Tweet. This will leads you to the tweet composer.
Type your comment on the field. You can add images and GIFs to your tweet. Note that the 280 character limit also applies here.
Tap on the Retweet button, at the right corner of your screen to share the tweet. Your Tweet will be shared with your followers as a Quote Tweet. That's it!
Using the X/Twitter Website
Go to twitter.com in your desktop browser and log in with your username and password. If you don't have an account, create one for free.
Navigate to a tweet. Note that you can't retweet any Tweets from a protected Twitter account. If an account is protected, you will see a lock icon next to their username.
Click on the Retweet button. You can see the Retweet icon at the bottom of your Tweet. When you click on it, two options will appear there.
Click on the Quote Tweet option. The comment box will pop-up on your screen.
Type your comment on the field. Don't forget the 280 character limit.
Hit the Retweet button. You can see the Retweet button at the bottom right of the page. When did it, you will see the Your Tweet was sent! message on there.
Finished. Your tweet will be shared with your followers as a Quote Tweet. Open your profile to see it.
