Steps

Obtain a bottle of vitamin E oil, or a few capsules. Begin by procuring a bottle of vitamin E oil. You can also use capsules—just poke them open and squeeze the oil out. Get the bottle/capsules with the higher IU (international units) number, as it is more effective. For example, 56,000 IU vitamin E than a 30,000 IU product.

Ensure your face is clean and dry. Wash and dry your face. The oil will be less effective if there's a bunch of gunk on your skin since the oil won't be able to penetrate your entire face. Also, a wet face will block the oil. Make sure to remove any makeup you might have on.

Pull/tie back any long hair, especially if it touches your face. You don't want your hair to be in the way. To do this, you can use a hair tie or use a hair clip.

Apply the oil onto your face. You can massage the oil into your face. Leave it on for about 15 minutes before proceeding. You may leave it on longer if you wish. Since vitamin E oil can be thick and sticky, you may want to use a brush or tissue instead to apply it.

Wash the oil off your face after some time. Use a gentle cleanser with some water to remove it. For natural alternatives, you may want to see How to Have a Clean Face Without Cleanser and How to Make Natural Face Cleansers.

Dry your face. You can use a clean towel or cloth—just replace it often (like once every few uses) to prevent bacterial build-up.(like once every few uses). Always hang-dry the towel or cloth in a well-ventilated area to prevent bacterial buildup. Be gentle. Use a soft towel and pat dry your face to prevent skin irritation.

Apply toner (optional). Toners contain astringents, which are generally alcohol-based substances that tighten the skin and pores and remove excess oil. They also remove any dirt that you missed when cleansing. Try not to use a toner with too much alcohol, as this can be very harsh and drying to your face.

Apply facial moisturizer, especially if you used a cleanser (optional). Hydrate your skin after the vitamin E oil face treatment by using a moisturizer. Moisturizers restore any moisture stripped from the skin. Even if your skin is oily. It is still good to finish up with a moisturizer so your skin doesn't compensate for dehydrated skin by producing excess oil. See How to Choose Moisturizer for Oily Skin for extra info on this.
