How to Make a Yarn Wreath
How to Make a Yarn Wreath
Here is a cute wreath to delight the knitter or crocheter in your family. It is ridiculously easy to make, looks great, and can use up some of those bits of yarn you've been trying to find a use for. For a festive look use red and green yarn and add Christmas ornaments, that looks fantastic as well.
Steps

Obtain the needed supplies. (See list at bottom of this page.)

Choose yarn colors that coordinate with each other. This can easily become a Christmas wreath with red and green yarn colors, an Easter wreath with pastels, a spring wreath with pale green, blue and yellow, etc etc.

Wrap each ball of yarn, either from yarn alone, or using a Styrofoam ball as a base to conserve yarn.

Fasten the ends of the yarn securely with a pin or glue.

Make at least 20 balls, using your wreath form as a guide so you know how many you need to cover it.

Fasten the balls onto or into a wreath form. There are two easy ways to handle this. 5_preformed_wreath_205.JPG1–If using a wreath base, you can simply hot glue or wire each ball onto the base in a pleasing pattern. 2–If using galvanized wire, 6_wire_loop_769.JPGCut your base wire to a length that will form a circle of the size you want plus 2–3 inches (5.1–7.6 cm) extra for fastening. 8_sringing_too_890.JPGPoke the wire through each ball of yarn to "string" them onto the wire. 10_end_to_end_784.JPGPoke the ends of the wire into the "end ball" to finish it off. Hot glue the ends together if you're concerned about the circle widening.

What's your reaction?
