After you use your birthdate and location to find out your sun sign, you’ll be ready to gain some new insights into your life!
Steps

Evaluating Your Birth Info

Assemble the information about your date, time, and place of birth. Write down the day, time, and location of your birth so that you have all of the info in one place. Since your sun sign is based on the sun’s location during your birth, knowing your birth time and location help to make your results as accurate as possible. If you aren’t sure about some pieces of information, try finding your birth certificate. You can also ask a relative or family friend to see if they remember the details of your birth.

Look online to determine your exact sun sign. Type your birth information into an online calculator to generate your sun sign. No matter what day or time you were born, you can only have one. Websites like Astrolibrary and Cafe Astrology are good tools to use. For instance, if you’re born between July 23 and August 23, your sun sign is Leo. If you’re born between December 22 and January 19, your sun sign is Capricorn.

Double check to make sure that you didn’t calculate your moon or rising sign by mistake. Your birth information is vital to calculating all aspects of your horoscope, such as your moon and rising signs. Make sure that you are generating the results for your sun sign, since there’s a good chance that your moon and rising signs are different. Your sun sign represents the different ways you like to express yourself. Your moon sign, on the other hand, demonstrates hidden aspects of your personality, while your rising sign highlights your social behaviors.

Analyzing Your Sun Sign

Compare your own personality traits to the traits of your sun sign. Examine the traits commonly associated with your grouping, and see which ones you identify with. It’s okay if you don’t identify with all of your sign’s qualities. Instead, use the comparison as a way to better understand your own personality. Check your compatibility with other signs. See which signs that your grouping naturally gets along with. Many websites and publications take more creative liberties determining compatibility based on common traits, so check different horoscopes and astrology articles to see what they say! Don’t sweat it if your sign isn’t compatible with someone else’s, as there are lots of factors that determine whether or not a relationship will work out. For instance, if you’re an Aries, you might have higher compatibility with Gemini and Libra, but have more difficulty getting along with Taurus.

Download apps that give you your daily horoscope. Add a few horoscope apps to your phone or tablet to gain some extra daily insights into your sun sign. Some apps offer free features while others require a subscription. Check out Horoscoper Club, iHoroscope, The DailyHoroscope, and Astrolis Horoscopes and Tarot if you aren’t sure where to start.

Read your horoscope to get some tips on how to go about your day. Check your horoscope and see if you can gather any wisdom from your sun sign about how to better prepare for what’s ahead. Astrology doesn’t always provide you with a clear path for the future, but it can help you better understand your own strengths and weaknesses. For instance, a Pisces might need to focus on their professional lives, while an Aquarius might want to spend more of their time socializing with others.
