This wikiHow teaches you how to evolve your Bonsly to Sudowoodo in Pokémon GO. To evolve Bonsly, you will first need to set it as your buddy Pokémon and walk around the map for 15 km. Then, you will need 50 Sudowoodo candies to complete its evolution to Sudowoodo. In other Pokémon games, Bonsly will automatically evolve when it's leveled up after learning the Mimic ability.

Steps

Setting Your Buddy Pokémon

Open Pokémon GO on your phone or tablet. The Pokémon GO app looks like a red-and-white Poké Ball on a blue background. You can find it on your home screen or on the Apps tray.

Tap your trainer avatar on the bottom-left. You'll see a thumbnail of your trainer avatar on the bottom-left corner of your screen. It will open your trainer screen.

Tap the Menu button on the bottom-right. This icon looks like three horizontal lines on a blue button in the lower-right corner of your screen. It will expand your menu options.

Tap BUDDY on the menu. This will open your current buddy Pokémon.

Tap the Switch button on the bottom-right. It looks like up-and-down arrows on a blue button in the lower-right corner.

Tap the green YES button. This will confirm your action, and allow you to select a new buddy Pokémon from your Pokémon list.

Select your Bonsly and tap the checkmark. The checkmark is at the bottom of the screen. This confirms Bonsly as your new buddy Pokémon.

Walk around the map with Bonsly. You will need to walk around the map for 15 km with Bonsly as your buddy Pokémon. After 15 km, you can use your candy to evolve your Bonsly.

Evolving Bonsly

Open the Pokémon GO app. Find and tap the Pokémon GO icon on your home screen or on the Apps tray to open the game.

Tap the Pokéball at the bottom. You'll see a classic, red-and-white Pokéball icon at the bottom of your screen. This will open your menu options on a new page.

Tap POKÉMON on the menu. This button looks like a blue Pikachu outline on a white button in the lower-left corner. It will open your Pokémon list.

Find and tap your Bonsly on the list. This will open your Bonsly's details on a new page.

Check if you have enough Sudowoodo candy. The number of Sudowoodo candies you have is listed below the weight and height information on the information card. You will need 50 candy to evolve Bonsly. If you don't have enough Sudowoodo candy, go ahead and collect more by catching more Sudowoodo. Each new Sudowoodo catch will give you 3 to 5 Sudowoodo candies. If you have duplicate Sudowoodos or Bonslys, you can transfer the duplicates to Professor Willow for 1 candy each.

Tap the EVOLVE button. You can find this button below the green POWER UP option. It will consume 50 Sudowoodo candies and evolve your Bonsly to Sudowoodo.
