Open and log into the Foursquare app. The app is pinkish-red and has an F on the face of it, that dithers to a pinpoint at the bottom. If "purchased" for free in the AppStore, it calls itself "Foursquare City Guide" now but operates with their same database.
Tap the "Lists" tab on the bottom of the screen. You should find this tab to the right of the Search tab which should have opened by default.
Look for an area called "Lists You Created". It may have a number standing for the total custom lists you've created next to it in parentheticals. This is where you'll find this option to create one.
Tap the "Create a new list" with the plus sign above it.
Type the list details. You'll need to select at least a "List Name". List Name is the only one that's mandatory to create a custom list of your own. Although not case-sensitive, it's best to use proper case which makes things stand out standard across your entire account. You can also describe why this list is/was created in the "Description box" and set the switch to either make this board (followable) by others (Foursquare uses the term "Collaborative") or not.
Tap the "Create List".
Add places to the list. Tap the + Add Places button, search for the item and tap the + sign to the right of the listing. Ensure though, that the address and name match the listing you'd want to add to this list.
