Here's Why Late Legend Elvis Presley's Wife Never Remarried
Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley got married in 1967 and divorced in 1973, just four years before his death. They have a daughter named Lisa Marie Presley.

Popular actress and businesswoman Priscilla Presley candidly shared her reasons for not pursuing remarriage following her divorce from Elvis Presley, a six-year union that concluded in 1973. The actress, now 78-year-old, provided insight into this life choice during a recent interview in Las Vegas, confirming that she made a vow never to remarry as long as her ex-husband was alive. She expressed concerns that Elvis, the rock music icon, might not have been able to handle such a decision. Their marriage, lasting from 1967 to 1973, left a profound impact on her.

Elvis Aaron Presley, often referred to as the King of Rock and Roll, was one of the most iconic and influential musicians of the 20th century.

Even after Elvis died in 1977, Priscilla Presley remained steadfast in keeping her promise throughout the following four decades. She explained, “To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry anyone after him. I never had any desire. No one could ever match him," People reported.

Priscilla also shed light on why they chose not to expand their family after welcoming their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in 1968. Elvis, burdened by a demanding schedule and a sense of guilt for not being present during Lisa’s formative years, felt it would be unfair to bring another child into their lives. His touring and busy commitments made it challenging for him to provide the attention a growing family deserved, as per the news outlet.

Earlier, Priscilla had shared how Elvis’s untimely death at the age of 42 continues to deeply affect her. She recalled the moment when Elvis’s road manager, Joe Esposito, delivered the heart-wrenching news over the phone.

“I can still hear Joe Esposito’s words, ‘Cilla, Elvis is dead’, and that was like, I just couldn’t imagine him ever, especially at his age and all, still so young and wanting to do so much and had so much planned, and not having him, not talking to him, not having him be the father of our child," the news portal had quoted her as saying.

“My big fear was Lisa, and how do I tell her," she had said adding, “She was only 9 at the time."

Priscilla also spoke of the qualities that drew her to Elvis, including his sharp sense of humour. They first crossed paths at a party in West Germany in 1959 when she was just 14, and he was 24. People added that Elvis’s charismatic presence left a lasting impression on her, and she fondly recalled his caring nature, recounting how he once spontaneously bought a woman a new blue Cadillac after spotting her looking at cars in a dealership in Memphis.

The enduring love story between Elvis and Priscilla is brought to life in the new biopic Priscilla, directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Cailee Spaeny and Jacob Elordi.
