Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav was on Sunday shifted to the ICU of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after his health deteriorated. The 82-year-old leader is under treatment in the hospital since August 22 and his condition is said to be stable now.
According to news agency PTI sources, he is being treated under the supervision of oncologists Dr Nitin Sood and Dr Sushil Kataria. The SP leader was admitted to the hospital in July also.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to enquire about his ailing father’s health. Sources said PM Modi assured Yadav that he is there to extend any possible help and assistance.
• Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also held a telephonic conversation with Akhilesh and enquired about his father’s health. Spoke to former Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav over the phone and enquired about the well being of his father and former Chief Minister Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav. Praying to Lord Shri Ram to grant him speedy recovery, Adityanath tweeted in Hindi.
• Bihar CM Nitish Kumar dialed Akhilesh Yadav to know about Mulayam’s health. “On getting information about the deteriorating health of Samajwadi Party Patron Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav ji, I talked to his son and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Akhilesh Yadav ji on phone and enquired about Mulayam Singh ji’s health. Wishing him a speedy recovery,” Kumar tweeted.
• The Samajwadi Party said Mulayam’s condition is stable and requested people not to come to the hospital.

• Mulayam’s son Akhilesh Yadav immediately reached the hospital. Other family members such as Mulayam’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav and his brother Shivpal Yadav have also reached the medical facility.
• In July last year, Mulayam was admitted to the hospital after complaining about uneasiness.
• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also spoke to Akhilesh Yadav to enquire about the health health of SP patron. In a tweet in Hindi, the Defence Minister said, “On getting information about the ill health of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, I talked to his son Akhilesh Yadav over phone and inquired about his well-being. I pray to god that he gets well soon.”
• Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has wished for Mulayam’s speedy recovery. “Information was received through the media about the deteriorating health of former Chief Minister of UP, Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji, I wish and pray to God for his speedy recovery!” he tweeted.

• Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has also expressed concern over Mulayam’s health. On his Twitter, Stalin said, “Worried about the health of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Thiru. Mulayam Singh. Hoping that he makes a full and quick recovery.”
• BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have also expressed concern over Mulayam’s deteriorating health and prayed for his speedy recovery.
