Manchester: Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has agreed a new one-year deal at Old Trafford.
Having retired at the end of the 2010/11 season, Scholes came out of retirement and made his comeback for the Red Devils in January during United's 3-2 FA Cup victory over rivals City at the Etihad Stadium.
The veteran midfielder was lauded for his performances last season, scoring four league goals as he almost guided United to a 13th Premier League title.
And the United man is now set to prolong his career into a season which will see him turn 38-years-old. United have also announced the goalkeeper Ben Amos has agreed a three-year deal at the club.
