Manchester: Manchester City have completed the signing of Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid on a five-year contract.
City have spent a club record fee of 35 million pounds on the Argentine international, a fee which includes add-ons based on his performances.
Aguero will wear the number 16 shirt at Eastlands and is expected to be a part of Roberto Mancini's squad that will play in the Dublin Super Cup tournament at the weekend.
The striker has signed a contract which will see him remain at Eastlands until 2016, and he will earn in the region of 180,000 pounds a week, making him one of the highest earners at City.
The 23-year-old flew into Manchester on Wednesday to discuss the terms of his deal and underwent a medical before he signed autographs for City fans outside the stadium.
The fee paid for Aguero passes the 32 million pounds paid for Robinho in 2008, as Roberto Mancini's side look to make their mark in the Champions League as well as challenging for the Premier League title this season.
Aguero, nicknamed 'Kun', has already stated about his delight about joining City on his official Twitter account.
"I'm already a City player. Happy to be in this club and this city," he said.
