Defending champions Bengaluru FC on Saturday ended Royal Wahingdoh's winning streak, comfortably beating the home team 4-0 in a round 4 match of the I-League played at the JN Stadium.

CK Vineeth netted the opener for Bengaluru FC when he headed in a set piece in the 36th minute, courtesy Rino Anto, silencing a 12,000 strong home crowd.

Local lad Eugeneson Lyngdoh doubled the visitors' lead in the 60th minute when he skillfully ran to take control of the ball before sending it past the goalkeeper.

Seven minutes later T Singh scored his first of the season before his second came in 10 minutes later as Bengaluru earned their first win of the league.

Debutant Royal Wahingdoh came close on two occasions on either side of the halves when the ball kissed the bar.

Both clubs went on an attacking spree from the first whistle. Host keeper Bernard made an astonishing save off Sean Rooney's shot as early as in the fifth minute.

The host strikers were not in their best form and it was evident on several occasions.

Kim Song Yong has been the main threat to the visitors but he missed an opportunity in the 16th minute when his shot from near the box was denied by keeper L Ralte. 10 minutes later he made another attempt though his shot went wide of the left bar.

Returning from a break the visitors upped the ante and went on an attacking spree and their effort paid off when a less experienced Royal Wahingdoh FC crumbled to the southern giant.

Bengaluru kept the hosts away from the danger zone till the final whistle.
