Hiddink gives thumbs-up for Chelsea job
Hiddink's last spell at Chelsea was as a caretaker manager where he took the Blues to FA Cup glory.

New Delhi: After Carlo Ancelotti's immediate departure, Chelsea have stepped up the chase to find his successor for the 2011-12 season.

According to The Mirror Turkey coach Guus Hiddink has given a thumbs-up for his return to Stamford Bridge. However, the report says that he has indicated a one-year stint as the club manager, following which Hiddink will like to join the Chelsea administration hierarchy.

Hiddink's last spell at Chelsea was as a caretaker manager where he took the Blues to FA Cup glory after the sacking of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

With Roman Abramovich sharing close ties with the Dutch master, the deal could finally signal the revival of Chelsea's fortunes after failing to land a single piece of silverware this season.

Chelsea's Russian chief believes Hiddink is the man to finally deliver his dreams of Champions League glory, while Hiddink is believed likely to want to groom fellow Dutchman and former Ajax, Milan and Holland striker Marco van Basten as his successor.

The Chelsea owner is set to revamp the Blues on and off the pitch, with new signings in mind and a rejig of the existing coaching staff, already having a four-man team to replace the existing one at Cobham.
