Madrid: David Beckham has recovered from an ankle injury and will play in Real Madrid's title-deciding league match against Mallorca today.
The 32-year-old midfielder trained with the team on Saturday and has been rule fit to play.
"I spoke with him after training and he said that he felt very good and would have no problems in playing," Madrid coach Fabio Capello said.
Beckham aggravated his left ankle in Madrid's 2-2 draw with Zaragoza last Saturday after spraining it while playing for England against Estonia in European Championship qualifying 10 days ago.
Madrid is unbeaten in the 11 games Beckham has played since Capello reinstated the former England captain after benching him for signing a five-year deal with MLS club the Los Angeles Galaxy in January.
"I think Beckham has been a very important player and in the last three months he has recovered the psychological and physical condition that was missing before," Capello said.
"I would put him up among the best players I've ever coached."
Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra also trained yesterday after returning from Mali.
The Mali captain was given permission by FIFA to return from international duty ahead of its African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone on Saturday.
Madrid is tied with FC Barcelona with 73 points, while UEFA Cup champion Sevilla has 71.
Madrid will clinch a record 30th league title - and its first in four seasons - by winning as it holds a head-to-head advantage over its Catalan rival.
