Spain: Barcelona midfielder Xavi says that Manchester United will be the favourites to win the Champions League final in London later this month.
The Spanish giants and the English powerhouse will confront each other in the final of Europe’s premier club competition for the second time in three years.
The two teams locked horns at the Olimpico in Rome in 2009 and at the time Barca ran out comfortable 2-0 winners to lift the European Cup for the third time.
Barcelona are considered favourites by many to win the competition again this campaign but star medio Xavi believes that United will prove to be a good enough match for them at Wembley on May 28.
"Manchester United are the favourites," said the Spain international, according to ESPNSoccernet. "They're a great team that also likes to play football, and perhaps that's good for us."
Team-mate Pedro echoed his words and said: "I hope we can win but Manchester are also a great team."
Barcelona are also on the verge of winning the Primera Division in Spain for the third season in a row as they are eight points clear of second-placed Madrid with just four more rounds of matches to be played.
Man United too could win the Premier League this campaign as they have a three-point advantage over Chelsea with three more rounds of games remaining.
