Ibrahimovic is the leading scorer for Milan this season and played a crucial role in their win over Roma.

Milan: AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani struggled to find the right superlative for Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the player made a rapid recovery from injury to play a decisive role in Saturday's crucial Serie A win over Roma.

The Sweden international was withdrawn at half-time in Tuesday night's Coppa Italia clash with Juventus in Turin, complaining of back pain.

Ibrahimovic was considered a major doubt for the visit of the Giallorossi but not only did the forward start at San Siro, he turned the game around with a second-half double which earned the Rossoneri a precious 2-1 victory.

"Ibra has a bad back and it was unsure if he was even going to play," Galliani admitted on the club's official website. "But then he scored two - he's an extraordinary player.

"And Ibra's goals are always something special. He's fantastic ... Extraordinary!"

Meanwhile, Milan lost Thiago Silva to a muscular problem which has ruled the Brazilian centre-half out of Wednesday night's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barcelona at the Giuseppe Meazza.

However, Galliani feels that the versatile Daniele Bonera, who was moved into the centre to fill the void left by Thiago Silva during the Roma clash, has already proven himself to be an able deputy.

"Bonera is having an extraordinary championship, probably his best since he arrived at the club," he argued.

"We don’t miss [Philippe] Mexes or Thiago Silva with him, as he never makes a mistake on the pitch."

The win over Roma moved Milan seven points clear of second-placed Juventus and Galliani believes that the club's fans should be savouring what he feels is a vintage spell for the Rossoneri.

"We're on 63 points and we have an amazing average," he enthused. "These 26 years with [owner and president Silvio] Berlusconi are the best years of our lives.

"I may be repeating myself but the fans have to know how much Berlusconi has done, and continues to do."
