The postponed UP Police Constable examination was scheduled from August 23 to 31. As per the reports, the examination was scheduled for February, but due to a paper leak, it was postponed. According to the statistics, lakhs of students were reported to be absent from the initial exam days, for the latest dates.
The reports state that the stats were released by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. According to the information, over 45 lakh candidates applied for the examination. The applications were made from Uttar Pradesh as well as the states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Mizoram and more.
For August 23, 24 and 25, lakhs of students did not appear for the exam. The details for the same are posted on the official website of the organisation, uppbpb.gov.in. The board has decided to conduct the examinations with strictness and utmost security to avoid any type of leak, copying or cheating.
Going by more information, on the first day of the examination, August 23, around 1.71 lakh candidates were absent. A reported 8.19 lakh candidates had downloaded the UP Police Admit Card, while 6.48 lakh of the names appeared for the test. On the first day, 77.11 per cent of attendance was recorded, of which 11 per cent were absent from the exam.
On August 24, a reported 9,63,676 candidates were to take the exam, while 8,24,573 downloaded the admit card. So, 6,57,443 candidates appeared for the examination and 72 were suspected of cheating. Around 3,06,233 candidates chose to miss the examination.
On August 25, around 9,63,671 candidates were expected to take the exam while the admit card was downloaded by 8,20,150 candidates. Only 6,78,767 candidates took part in the exam. The third exam day saw a reported 185 suspects were caught. A total of 2,84,904 candidates skipped the test, more reports stated.
