The Higher Education Department of Odisha has started the registration process for the Common Postgraduate Entrance Test (CPET) 2024. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the Common Application Form (CAF) on the official website, samsodisha.gov.in. It is to be noted that the deadline to fill out the application for the entrance exam is May 27 at 11:45 PM. The admit card will be issued on June 22 (11 AM onwards). The entrance exam will be held from July 3 to 14.
Odisha CPET 2024: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have successfully finished their graduation from an accredited university or an equivalent course to apply for the entrance exam. Moreover, those who are expecting UG results can also apply, however, they must upload their grades before the merit list is released. The notification states that candidates who are accepted and enrolled in any subject during the first round of admissions at any Higher Education Institution (HEI) will not be eligible to participate in the second or third rounds of admissions as those rounds will be reserved for students who were not selected.
Odisha CPET 2024: Steps to Register
Step 1: Visit the official Odisha CPET website at samsodisha.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the link for registration.
Step 3: Enter the details in the application form including name, date of birth, email address and mobile number.
Step 4: Post this, sign in with the newly configured credentials.
Step 5: Now, fill out the application form by entering your personal and academic details.
Step 6: Upload the documents as required and pay the application fee
Step 7: Hit submit and download the confirmation page for future use
Odisha CPET 2024: Application Fees
To apply for the Odisha CPET exam, general category applicants must pay Rs 500 for a single subject, while applicants from the SC and ST categories must submit Rs 300. Furthermore, there is a fee of Rs 200 for each extra subject.
Odisha CPET 2024: Selection Procedure
Candidates will have to undergo a four-tier selection process in the initial phase. The first two rounds of selection will take the reservation and weighting into account. According to an official statement, if no eligible applicants from a certain category apply, seats will be released in the third round. The fourth round, the final round for phase 1, will be a spot admission round.
