IIT To Cracking UPSC Twice, A Look At IAS Garima Agrawal's Inspiring Journey
On her first attempt, Garima Agrawal bagged 240th rank in UPSC CSE, and on the second, she got AIR 40.

There is no limit for those who aim for the stars. The story of Garima Agrawal from Madhya Pradesh who started a journey of success, staying consistent on her path, is a testament to the statement.

IAS Garima Agrawal belongs to the district of Khargone, in Madhya Pradesh, born into a family of business people. The reports state that she has been a very smart individual since her days of childhood. She completed her early education from the Saraswati Vidya Mandir, in Khargone.

In her 10th board examination, she secured a score of 89 per cent, while in her 12 examinations, she got 92 per cent. After completing her intermediate, she started preparations for one of the toughest exams in the world, JEE. Amazingly, she was able to qualify for the entrance exam on her first attempt. Then she got into IIT Hyderabad where she pursued a B.Tech degree.

Her streak of success continued as she was offered a job in Germany, thanks to her brilliant grades. But she had no interest in continuing her job at a foreign company. So, she came back to India and started preparing for the UPSC examination. Again, she qualified for the UPSC in only her first attempt, achieving the 240th rank.

Her goal was clear, which was to become an IAS officer, so she started her rigorous IPS training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, in Hyderabad. At the same time, she started preparing for the upcoming Civil Services Examination.

On her second attempt, Garima qualified for the UPSC CSE examination in 2018, achieving the 40th rank. She completed her IAS training from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, in Mussoorie and became a government officer. At the moment, she is posted as an Assistant District Magistrate in the Telangana state.

Garima Agrawal is married to Pallav Tinna, a software engineer. They tied the knot in 2021. According to his LinkedIn profile, Pallav did his BTech from IIT Hyderabad.
