GATE 2025: Candidates of female, SC, ST, and Divyang categories applying with a late fee will have to pay Rs 1400 and others will have to pay Rs 2300.

The application process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 with late fees is set to end today, October 7. Candidates who are yet to register can apply by visiting the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. As per the official notice, the registration fee for this is Rs 900 for SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates and Rs 1800 for unreserved category candidates. However, candidates of female, SC, ST, and Divyang categories applying with a late fee will have to pay Rs 1400 and others will have to pay Rs 2300.

The GATE exam will be conducted in two shifts on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. IIT Roorkee will release the admit cards on January 2, 2025, and the results for the same are expected to be out on March 19, 2025.

Graduation final year students or those pursuing a degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts/Humanities can apply for the GATE exam. There is no age limit for this.

How To Apply For GATE 2025?

Step 1: Head to the official website of GATE 2025 at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, look for the Apply Online link and click on it.

Step 3: Next up, register yourself on the portal by providing the required details.

Step 4: After logging in, fill in the GATE 2025 Application form and submit all the necessary documents.

Step 5: Pay the application fee and click on proceed.

Step 6: Save and take a hard copy of the application for future reference.

There will be a total of 30 papers in the GATE 2025 exam. Candidates can appear in two papers of the GATE exam. The total marks for each paper will be 100 marks, with a General Aptitude section worth 15 marks and the remaining 85 marks will comprise of the core papers. For the two-paper option, candidates must first select a primary test paper, with the second paper chosen from the allowed combinations.

The exam is conducted for admission to postgraduate courses in engineering. Many PSUs including ONGC also make recruitments based on the score.
