Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli received the invitation to attend Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on the 22nd of January.
The former Indian skipper and wife Anushka Sharma, a Bollywood actress, were presented with the invitation to attend the grand inauguration of the temple in UP.

Kohli, who was in Indore with the Indian cricket team for their ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan, travelled back to his home in Mumbai to personally receive the invitation for the mega event and will travel to Bangalore for the third match of the series.
A star-studded lineup is expected to turn up for the inauguration of the temple including the likes of Indian cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni, who were also handed their invitations for the Pran Pratishtha on Monday.
A Pran Pratishtha is a ceremony by which a Hindu temple consecrates a murti. Holy hymns and mantras are performed to welcome the deity as the temple resident.
A number of high-profile names from across different walks of life including industrialists Mukesh Ambani, and Ratan Tata, film star Amitabh Bachchan and sportstars are expected to be in attendance during the holy ceremony in Ayodhya as the organisers gear up to welcome around 700 VIPs to the event.
The honourable Prime Minister of the nation, Shri Narendra Modi will also be in attendance at the highly awaited inauguration of the mandir is scheduled to be on the 22nd of January in UP City.
According to reports, the particular date of January 22 is chosen as it coincides with the Karma Dwadashi, a date dedicated to Lord Vishnu, as people believe that it was on this day Lord Vishnu took the form of a turtle, in one of his avatars.
Team India lead the three-match T20 series against visiting Afghanistan 2-0 following victories in both the concluded games, and will look to finish the whitewash with a win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
