Shikhar Dhawan shared a special Instagram post on his son Zoravar’s birthday. The India opener posted a picture of Zorawar and wrote a long note where he shared that “Papa always misses you and loves you.”
Dhawan has been staying away from his son since parting ways with his former wife Aesha in October. At the time of their divorce, Aesha, an Australian citizen, took custody of their son.
A Delhi court, which granted their separation, gave Dhawan mandatory visitation rights to meet Zoravar in India and Australia. However, according to his latest Instagram post, Dhawan has not been able to “meet his son in person for a year”.

Dhawan dropped a screenshot from an old video chat with his son on Instagram with an emotional note reading, “It’s been a year since I saw you in person, and now, for almost three months, I’ve been blocked from everywhere so posting the same picture to wish you, my boy, a very Happy Birthday.”

Dhawan revealed how it feels to stay far away from his beloved son. “Even if I can’t connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you’re doing great and growing up nicely. Papa always misses you and loves you. He’s always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God,” he wrote in the caption.
“Be naughty but not destructive, be a giver, be humble, compassionate, patient, and strong. Despite not seeing you, I write you messages almost every day, asking about your well-being and daily life, sharing what I’m doing and what’s new in my life. Love you loads Zora,” Dhawan added.

Fans flocked to the comment section and hailed Shikhar Dhawan for his rock-solid mentality. One of them was quick to acknowledge that the caption was “enough to make a grown man cry.” “This literally broke my heart.” another fan commented.
Some users also wished “junior Gabbar” Zoravar on his birthday.
While appealing for divorce, Shikhar Dhawan had claimed that his estranged wife Aesha had caused him mental anguish by forcing him into a long-distance marriage.
Dhawan has been away from international cricket since featuring in an ODI game against Bangladesh last December.
