FASTag KYC, Paytm Payments Bank To Aadhaar Updation, 6 Money Deadlines You Can’t Miss In March

March 2024 brings a flurry of crucial financial and administrative deadlines. From making tax-saving investments to updating your Aadhaar card, staying organised is key to avoiding any last-minute hassles. Notably, Paytm Payments Bank customers have until the 15th to transfer their funds to other accounts, while free Aadhaar updates cease on the 14th, incurring fees thereafter.

By keeping these key dates in mind, individuals can manage their finances and personal information effectively throughout the month.

March 14

Free Aadhaar updation: March 14 is the last day to update your Aadhaar card details for free. After this date, there will be a charge for any updates.

March 15

• Paytm Payments Bank deadline: Customers of Paytm Payments Bank need to transfer their assets to another bank by this date. After March 15, depositing money or conducting credit transactions into Paytm bank accounts will not be possible.
• The fourth instalment of advance tax payment: This is the last day to pay the fourth and final instalment of your advance tax for the financial year 2023-2024.

March 31

• Tax-saving investments: This is the deadline to make investments that can help you save tax for the financial year 2023-2024.

Filing Updated ITR For FY 21-22

• The deadline for submitting a revised ITR for the fiscal year 2021-22 is March 31, 2024. Therefore, taxpayers who failed to file their returns for that financial year or may have overlooked reporting any income have the opportunity to submit a revised ITR or ITR-U.
• Taxpayers have the option to file an updated return within 24 months (2 years) from the conclusion of the relevant assessment year, provided certain conditions are met. Therefore, if taxpayers failed to file for the fiscal year 2019-20, they can still do so until March 31.

FASTag Know Your Customer Update

In light of the challenges experienced by Paytm Payments Bank FASTag users, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has extended the compliance deadline for the ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ initiative until March 31, 2024.

As a result, FASTag users now have an extra month to complete the KYC requirements.
