New Delhi: The Delhi High Court is to give its final verdict on the Reliance petition challenging the bidding process for modernising Delhi and Mumbai airports.
The court had asked all disputing parties, including the central Government, to file their replies, affidavits and counter-affidavits before February 8.
The Bench said it was keen on a resolution to the case, without undergoing a rigmarole of regular procedures.
In its last hearing, the Delhi High Court had agreed to dispose of the matter at the earliest considering the fact that the modernisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports was of national importance.
Reliance has moved the court, challenging the government's decision to award the modernisation contracts to GMR Fraport for Delhi and GVK ACSA for Mumbai airport.
The Reliance-ASA combine had submitted the highest financial bid for Delhi airport. It was offering about 45 per cent revenue share to the government.
But GMR was given the chance to match reliance's bid on the grounds that they were the most technically qualified.
Reliance was second after GMR in the technical bids.
But a panel led by Delhi Metro Corporation Head E Sreedharan decreased the marks for Reliance-ASA, saying that their technical bid was not good enough.
A Division Bench comprising Justice T S Thakur and Justice Sanjeev Khanna had asked all parties to the dispute, including the Union Government, to file their replies, affidavits and counter-affidavits before February eight.
The Bench said it was keen on early disposal of the case without undergoing rigmarole of regular procedures.
