Varun Dhawan expressed his disappointment over a dog getting kicked at a recent IPL 2024 match. On Sunday, a dog invaded a Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) match which took place in Gujarat. The dog escaped from the sides and made its way to the grounds. While videos showed Hardik Pandey trying to stop the dog, a new video has gone viral showing the organisers hitting and kicking the dog.
The video has led to massive outrage. Varun also shared the video on his Instagram Stories along with his reaction. He wrote, “Wtf a dog isn’t a football. Also, the dog isn’t biting or harming anyone. Regardless there has to be a better way.”
The new season of IPL began last week. A star-studded opening ceremony was hosted in Chennai. Stars such as Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Sonu Nigam and AR Rahman performed during the opening ceremony.
Meanwhile, Varun recently made headlines last week after the first look of his upcoming series, Citadel India aka Citadel Honey Bunny, was released. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe. Prime Video India dropped the trailer at a grand event on Monday and also released a short clip as part of a montage of all the titles. The show’s leads – Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan – were also present. It has been written by Raj and DK and Sita R. Menon. Apart from Varun and Samantha, it stars Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles.
Varun is also rumoured to be a part of Shraddha Kapoor’s film, Stree 2. As per reports, the film crosses over with Varun’s Bhediya which released in 2022.
