Extending support to the ruling BJP government, Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep announced that he would be campaigning for the BJP and confirmed that he received a threat letter.
“Yes, I have received a threat letter and I know who sent it to me. I know who the letter is from. It is from someone in the film industry. I will give a befitting reply to them. I will work in favour of those who stand by my side in my tough times,” Kannada actor Kichcha Sudeep said.
An FIR was filed against an unknown person who reportedly issued a letter threatening to release private videos of the Sandalwood star.
Officials said the threat letters were received by Sudeep’s manager Jack Manju. After bringing it to the actor’s attention, an FIR was registered at the Puttenahalli Police Station in Bengaluru.

The threat letter case has now been transferred to Central Crime Branch following an order from the Bangalore city commissioner Pratap Reddy.
Sudeep’s Political Entry
Amid speculations, Sudeep said he would campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Karnataka Assembly elections next month.
Ahead of his press conference with Basvaraj Bommai, Sudeep on Wednesday ruled out any possibility of him contesting the upcoming Karnataka elections. He also stated that he is neither seeking a ticket for his close aide and producer Manju.
Sudeep has a huge following in central Karnataka, especially among the ST community. He belongs to the Nayaka community which is ST.
Actor Prakash Raj responded to reports of Kiccha Sudeep joining the BJP and tweeted in Kannada, “I strongly believe this is a Fake news spread by the desperate BJP in Karnataka. Kiccha Sudeep is far more sensible citizen to fall prey. I would like to believe that this is lies spread by the BJP which is fearing defeat in Karnataka. Namma Kiccha is not for sale.”
Last Month, Sudeep had hinted at offers from both the BJP and Congress. Sudeep and Bommai enjoy a close relationship and the actor refers the CM as ‘Mama’ which means uncle.
In February, Sudeep met Karnataka Pradesh Congress president DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru.
