The America-based top electric car manufacturer Tesla has been grabbing headlines ever since it shared the plans for India. Now, in a fresh development, it seems like the Elon Musk-owned Tesla is likely to bring the most tech-loaded EVs in India soon. It has been reported that the company has reached its final talks with the Indian government, and is expected to start operations in 2024.
The government also taking positive steps, and is likely to give the green signal to American EV automakers to start production next year. However, neither the company has shared any official details, nor the government has released anything concrete statement about the same as yet.
Tesla To Set Factory Next Year?
Reports have suggested that the final announcement is expected to be revealed at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which is scheduled to take place in January 2024. If everything goes positively, Tesla might open its first-factor setup either in Maharashtra, Gujarat or, Tamil Nadu.
Tesla’s Indian Model
Once the operation starts, the company expects to introduce its entry-level trim named ‘The model 3’, which comes at around 39,990 dollars (roughly around Rs 30 lakh) in the international market. However, after getting the customs duties and taxes, the price might reach around Rs 70 lakh- Rs 80 lakh.
