Tata Punch Facelift Expected To Launch By Mid-2025, Here’s What You Can Expect
Tata Motors is expected to give the Punch SUV a facelift, similar to what was done to the Nexon and Harrier.

Tata Motors launched the Punch Electric Vehicle (EV) in India on January 17.

In comparison to its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, the all-electric micro-SUV boasts numerous first-in-class features.

However, a senior Tata Motors official has confirmed that the facelift for the petrol-powered Punch will not happen until mid-2025, so those hoping to see the freshness of the Punch EV trickle down to the ICE model will have to wait a little longer.

“Starting from the Punch EV, which is based on the pure EV architecture Acti.ev, our aim is to differentiate the ICE and EVs; therefore, you will continue to see a differentiated look and feature set in an EV versus an ICE. So, when we come with a facelift for ICE, which is in the middle of 2025 or slightly later, it will come with a differentiated look with a different set of features as compared to the Punch EV,” Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director (MD), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles & Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, said as quoted by carandbike.

What to expect from a Tata Punch facelift?

Tata Motors can update the Punch SUV’s styling with fresh design cues to bring it in line with the company’s newer models, as we’ve seen with the Nexon and Harrier facelifts. Furthermore, changes to the front bumper and grille, as well as minor tweaks to the headlamps and bonnet, are also expected to refresh the small SUV.

The petrol-powered Punch, like the Nexon and the Nexon EV facelift, will have styling elements that distinguish it from the recently launched Punch EV. Meanwhile, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director (MD) of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, stated that the Punch will have features that differ between the petrol and EV versions, reports add.

With design cues from the Punch EV, the much-awaited Tata Punch facelift will bring a plethora of technological and safety-related improvements. It will get a tech boost without losing its unique identity. This includes amenities like a large 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a fully digital driver’s display, and an air purifier. The inclusion of new features and time-honoured favourites like cruise control, a sunroof, and automated climate control will be nicely balanced.

The Punch is currently equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 86 bhp and 113Nm, mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. There is also a CNG option, and we do not expect any powertrain updates for the Punch facelift.
