Tata Motors has just launched its fifth all-electric vehicle, the eagerly awaited Curvv EV, in India.
With prices starting from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom), the Curvv EV is set to compete directly with the MG ZS EV, which is priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 25.44 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
Battery Options and Range
The Curvv EV offers two battery pack choices:
- 40.5kWh: Available in Creative, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ variants with an MIDC range of 502km.
- 55kWh: Available in Accomplished, Accomplished+ S, Empowered+, and Empowered+ A variants with an MIDC range of 585km.
Tata’s C75 testing standard, which is closer to real-world conditions, estimates a range of 400-425km for the long-range model and 330-350km for the 40.5kWh version. For comparison, the MG ZS EV’s 50.3kWh battery is ARAI-rated for 461km.
Performance and Charging
All Curvv EV variants feature a 167 bhp electric motor on the front axle, enabling a 0-100kph sprint in just 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 160kph. Charging is quick too – up to 150km of range in 15 minutes and 10-80 percent in 40 minutes with a 70kW charger. The model supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging, accessible via the iRA app.
Design and Features
In terms of design, Tata Curvv EV gets closed-off grille, nose-mounted charger, vertical styling elements on the bumper, 18-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels.
The cabin boasts a dual-tone white and grey color scheme. The vehicle offers a plethora of features like a 12.3-inch floating infotainment touchscreen, a touch-based climate control panel, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with navigation for top models. Other highlights include a rotary drive selector, wireless charging pad, and 500 litres of boot space.
Top-spec Curvv EVs come with leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate with gesture control, and a 320W 9-speaker JBL sound system. Safety features are abundant with six airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill-start and descent assist, driver drowsiness alert, blind spot monitor, and Level 2 ADAS features.
Besides these, Tata has also launched a range of accessories called Tata.ev Originals for buyers to personalize their Curvv EV.
