Orxa Mantis Electric Bike Launched, Price Starts At Rs 3.6 Lakh
Orxa Mantis electric bike, priced at Rs 3.6 lakh, redefines riding with India's first liquid-cooled motor. Deliveries start April 2024. Book now for Rs 10,000.

Orxa Mantis electric bike has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 3.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).

Despite missing out on the FAME 2 subsidy, this two-wheeled marvel comes with a standard 1.3kW charger, making every ride a powerful experience.

Bridging the gap in the electric motorcycle domain, the Mantis stands shoulder to shoulder with the Ultraviolette F77’s base variant, priced at Rs 3.8 lakh. The heart of this beast is a mid-mounted motor churning out 28 bhp and 93 Nm, propelling it to a claimed top speed of 135kph and an exhilarating 0-100kph time of 8.9 seconds. What sets it apart is the groundbreaking liquid-cooled motor – a first for electric two-wheelers in India. Orxa’s innovative use of liquid cooling makes the motor compact and lightweight, tipping the scales at just 11.5kg.

Despite its weight of 182kg, the Mantis outshines the competition, including the 197kg Ultraviolette, thanks to its larger 8.9kWh battery pack. This powerhouse delivers a range of 221km (IDC), surpassing expectations. Charging options abound, with a standard 1.3kW charger and an optional faster 3.3kW Blitz charger, both available for wall mounting or as portable units.

Besides these, Orxa has plans for luggage accessories – 30-litre side panniers and a 45-litre top box, perfectly accommodating the portable charger. Prices for these add-ons will be unveiled closer to the delivery date.

Anticipated to hit the streets in April 2024, starting in Bengaluru, the Mantis is now up for grabs with bookings open at an enticing Rs 10,000 for the first 1000 customers. Act fast, as the booking amount will rise to Rs 25,000 afterward.

In a league of its own, the Mantis emerges as a formidable rival to the Ultraviolette F77, holding its own against petrol-powered counterparts like the KTM 250 Duke, all while sporting a price tag comparable to the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure.
