With the construction of Jewar Airport in Noida in full swing, there has been good news for the people travelling from Ghaziabad to the airport.
Currently, people who travel to the Noida airport from Ghaziabad pass through the area of Shahberi. These travellers encounter heavy traffic congestion in the area, especially near the Bhati.
Now, the Noida authority has made plans to resolve the issue. The authority has decided to build a flyover on the route of Shahberi, resulting in a reduction of traffic congestion near the area. The construction of this flyover will also lead to a reduction in the travel time for commuters travelling from Ghaziabad to Jewar Airport.
The Noida authority decided during their inspection that before the opening of the flyover, they would be putting in efforts to handle the encroachment on the Shahberi road by the local people.
After that, they will be looking to widen the road by repairing damaged drains so that vehicles can smoothly pass on the road. Once the Shahberi flyover is built, it will help commuters travelling from Noida to Greno West and vice versa via Parthala, as they will get relief from the extreme traffic congestion.
As per the reports from News Nine, the officials went for an inspection at the site last week to assess the traffic situation. The traffic conditions are generally extreme, especially during the morning and evening hours.
During the inspection, the authorities found that the traffic situation would largely be unaffected from Greno West to Noida once the flyover is constructed. However, commuters currently experience heavy congestion heading from the Parthala flyover to Greno West.
They also found that the traffic was the heaviest in the Shahberi area. The effects of this heavy congestion in the Shahberi area can also be felt in areas like Gaur Chowk, Itaida, and Ekmurti Chowk.
While the flyover is being constructed, special measures will be taken by the traffic police to regulate traffic during peak hours. If traffic is observed on the road from Gaur Chowk towards Itaida and Tigri, the police will stop the traffic from one side and manually clear the blocked vehicles. The Noida Authority officials have not yet determined the official date of the trial run of the Shahberi flyover.
