Next time you find yourself walking down the streets of Dubai and spot a fancy car with the number ‘7’ or ‘2,’ stop for a second. You may have just crossed paths with a personality who is playing an important role in ushering new dawn in Syria. Syrian billionaire Mohammad Makhlouf, often known for his opulent lifestyle on Instagram, is embarking on a path of altruism where he is keen on changing the lives of millions of people in the war-torn country.
In personal life, Makhlouf likes to indulge in golf and travelling. He is an avid collector of luxurious cars, and it is not uncommon to see him sporting a luxurious car on the streets of Dubai. Mohammad is the proud owner of several unique vehicles with stand-out number plates – his favourite numbers being "2" and "7" which he believes brings him a hint of good luck.
Mohammad's passion for cars seems to have taken root in his childhood. "I used to love collecting toy cars as a child. I had a huge collection, various shapes, colours, and designs. The only difference between then and now is that I'm a bit older and the cars are a lot bigger", he said.
Mohammad is a man of many colours. From blazing around in his Ferrari to savouring the old school beauty of his Rolls Royce, there is indeed more to him than meets the eye. Beneath the glitz and glamour, resides a bright young mind determined to help make the world a better place, especially for the people who need assistance the most. When asked what brings him true happiness, Mohammad smiled and answered "I'd probably tell you, there is nothing that makes me happier than crossing 200 mph in my G850 Brabus. While that is true, I realized that having the ability to change people's lives is something that really brings a smile on my face."
Makhlouf profoundly believes in changing people’s lives and taking every opportunity to help those in need. He founded MRM Charity – an organization that has worked endlessly towards the betterment of the people. Makhlouf has also developed a stadium in the port city of Latakia where children can go and play for free.
His good deeds have not gone unnoticed, as he was awarded “Syria's Most Charitable Individual” as well as the “Al-Amal Award”, both in 2018.
