Bengaluru airport has swiftly canceled its newly introduced parking fees for private and commercial vehicles, just hours after putting the policy in place, as reported by Business Today.
Earlier on Monday, an announcement indicated that traveling to Kempegowda International Airport would become costlier.
The new policy stated that private vehicles would have to pay up to Rs 150 for a stay of 7-14 minutes, with no charge for stays under seven minutes.
Commercial vehicles, including taxis, were to be charged Rs 150 for the first seven minutes and Rs 300 if they stayed longer. Buses were set to pay Rs 600, and tempo travelers Rs 300.
Signs installed at the airport also warned that unattended vehicles or those parked for more than 15 minutes would be towed to the nearest police station at the owner’s expense.
Losing a parking ticket would incur a Rs 600 fine, and drivers were instructed not to leave their vehicles unattended.
This fee structure was to apply to both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. However, the airport authorities have now revoked these charges, reverting to the previous system.
