The Kawasaki Eliminator 500, introduced internationally in mid-2023, has now been officially launched in India for Rs 5.62 lakh (ex-showroom).
This model has gained popularity beyond Japan, and its iconic ‘Eliminator’ name holds significance in the motorcycle manufacturer’s portfolio in India.
The revival of the Eliminator series is expected to generate considerable interest among enthusiasts. Bookings for the Eliminator 500 are currently open at all Kawasaki dealerships in the country.
2024 Kawasaki Eliminator 500: Details
The new Kawasaki Eliminator is a classic cruiser with modern styling. The low-slung design and laid-back stance remain but the bike now has a round LED headlamp, exposed frame, and all-black components.
The cruiser has a circular LCD instrument console with all the essentials such as a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, coolant temperature, gear position indicator, two trip metres, and more. The unit also has Bluetooth connectivity, which allows it to receive calls and notifications from the Kawasaki Rideology app.
The 2024 Kawasaki Eliminator is powered by a 451cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine based on the Ninja 400. This engine made its debut at EICMA 2023 in the new Ninja Kawasaki 500 and Z500. The engine produces 44 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 46 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and includes an assist and a slipped clutch.
A six-speed gearbox with a slip/assist clutch transmits power to the rear wheel. The Eliminator 500 is equipped with a brand-new chassis and dual rear shocks. When compared to its larger sibling, the Vulcan 650, which uses a mono-shock, this will give the bike a more vintage cruiser look.
Other mechanical features include 41 mm telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. With dual-channel ABS, a 310 mm semi-floating front disc and a 220 mm rear disc provide braking performance. The bike is equipped with a front 130/70/R18 tyre and a rear 150/80R16 tyre wrapped around 10-spoke alloy wheels. The seat height on the new Eliminator is 734 mm, making it accessible to all, and Kawasaki offers adjustable footpegs and seats to make the motorcycle more comfortable for the rider.
Kawasaki India will begin delivering the new Eliminator in mid-January. In addition to the motorcycle, the company sells accessories such as a rear carrier, tank pad, radiator screen and frame sliders. In the middleweight cruiser segment, the Eliminator 500 primarily comKpetes against the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650.
