A female teacher from a school in the US state of Wisconsin was accused for allegedly “making out” with an 11-year-old boy in her classroom.
The teacher, identified as Madison Bergmann, purportedly moved the child’s desk next to hers so that she could touch him during class, while ensuring that no other students gets to see it.
As per a complaint filed on Thursday in St. Croix District Court, the boy who is a student of fifth grade told investigators that Bergmann would rub his thigh and calves during independent reading time.
The boy also claimed that Bergmann would also ask him to stay after class.
He further said that the accused teacher kissed him several times in her classroom, either after school or while the other students were on a lunch break.
The 24-year-old teacher has been charged with first-degree child sexual assault of a child under age 13.
According to a report by The New York Post, the boy’s family had befriended Bergmann while going with her on a ski trip to a nearby resort.
It was during that weekend that Bergmann received the boy’s number, she told authorities.
The boy’s mother overheard disturbing call and alerted her husband. As per the complaint, the father allegedly confiscated the boy’s phone and read his text messages.
In one of the text messages, the complaint stated, Bergmann wrote to the boy that she wanted to just grab his face and push him to the floor and make out with him.
The boy’s father who was agitated on the incident, got printout of the texts and took them to the school.
Authorities immediately started an investigation on the case.
When the officials searched Bergmann’s bag, they allegedly found a folder with the victim’s name on it and inside it were several handwritten letters.
“In her notes she tells him that she loves him, wants to kiss him, he turns her on, and that she is obsessed with him,” the complaint stated.
In a conversation with The Post, one of the student’s mom shared, “My daughter thought he was a problem kid. She said that his desk got moved next to [Bergmann’s] a couple of months ago, and she just assumed that he was in trouble.”
The mother of the victim’s classmate further said that during lunch time, the teacher would ask him to stay after class and thereby that just strengthened the idea that he was constantly getting into trouble.
The accused was reportedly engaged to his fiance Sam Hickman but as per reports the wedding has been ‘indefinitely postponed’ and probably won’t happen.
