Zomato, Swiggy, Zepto And Blinkit Celebrate KKR's IPL Victory And How

At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final saw an exciting clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In a one-sided final, KKR defeated SRH by eight wickets to win their third trophy. Co-owner Shah Rukh Khan and his family were clearly emotional as they celebrated the victory. As KKR fans participated in the celebrations, it didn’t take long for delivery apps to show off their creativity.

Notable responses included posts from prominent businesses like Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy, and Zomato.

A picture of a package of rasgullas, a popular Bengali mithai, was posted by Blinkit, awarding the KKR team a delicious delivery.

“Our boys are out to deliver to @KKRiders,” the caption read.

Another delivery company, Zepto, jokingly remarked that the trophy had been “delivered” to the rightful team.

They wrote, “Squad: riders in purple. order: cup. status: delivered.”

Using a reference to Kolkata’s well-known biryani with aloo, Swiggy posted an amusing note mocking Hyderabad supporters that read, “not for the faint-hearted.”

In case you’re not aware, there’s a long-standing and lighthearted rivalry between Hyderabadi and Kolkatan enthusiasts of biryani, whereby they dispute the inclusion of potatoes in the dish.

Zomato also got in on the fun, posting a clever joke in which it was suggested that supporters of Kolkata gorge Australian cricket player Mitchell Starc (who plays for KKR) with sweets, insinuating that this may have an impact on his World Cup fitness.

“Kolkata, pls feed sooooo many sweets to Starc, he fails the fitness test for world cup,” they wrote.

The triumph of KKR was enhanced by the presence of Shah Rukh Khan and his interactions with the spectators and his family.

Everybody involved was left with unforgettable memories of his famous open-arm pose, his heartfelt hug with Gauri Khan and their joyful walk of honour with Suhana and AbRam.

In terms of the game, KKR’s bowlers performed perfectly, dismissing SRH for just 113 runs in 18.3 overs—the lowest total ever in an IPL final. Notable performances were by Mitchell Starc and Andre Russell. With Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s assistance at bat and Venkatesh Iyer’s undefeated 52, the chase was completed in mere 10.3 overs.
