If you enjoy drinking alcohol, snacks are crucial, especially in a desi culture where “chakna” is considered essential for a complete drinking experience. While some people can enjoy alcohol on its own, others prefer to have munchies alongside their drinks. Enthu Cutlet Mag recently challenged Masterchef Australia judge Andy Allen by introducing him to a variety of Indian “chakna”, ranging from spicy Chilli Cheese Bhujia to Masala Peanuts and Cheeselings.
Allen’s reaction was mixed. Although he appreciated some dishes, his responses also sparked debate among a few social media users. Some argued that dishes like Schezwan Ketchup and Chakli were missing from the lineup.
Starting with Chilli Cheese Bhujia, Andy said, “Massively into that. Very good, five from five. Would smash out with beer any day.” Masala peanuts also impressed him, as he enthusiastically stated, “Yes please, this is like taking it to the next level. I’m into that. Five from five.”
However, his reaction to Cheeselings was less favourable, “No, no, no. Two out of five.” When it came to Cherry cheese pineapple, Allen added, “These are on my kill list. I don’t even know if I want to drink beer with that and that’s saying something because I drink beer with everything. Like, do I even have to give it a one? is zero part of the score?”
Later, when Andy Allen tasted Murukku, he said, “It looks like a sea urchin. That’s okay, like I’d had it with some salt. Three and a half out of five. I think the winner would be the first one or the peanuts. it’s probably dead heat between these two.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “That murukku deserves some schezwan chutney.”
Another shared, “Chakli. Chutney. Schezwan.”
“No masala papad? No chicken 65?” a person wondered.
Another wrote, “Andy is a man of class. Bhujia and Masala Peanuts are the only true chakna.”
An individual suggested, “Have OG bikaneri bhujiya or alu bhujiya. Chakli with chutney. Chana chor! Sukha bhel. Where’s all the good stuff?”
Since the video surfaced online, it has garnered over 1 lakh views.
