The India vs Pakistan face-off at the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup turned out to be an absolute cracker of a contest. India won the final-over thriller on Sunday. The nail-biting finish broke the hearts of a million Pakistan supporters, who were confident about their team’s victory. Amid the mixed feelings, the story of a Pakistani fan garnered everyone’s attention. It has been learnt that the fan sold his tractor for $3,000 (Rs 2.5 lakh approx.) to watch the clash between India and Pakistan in New York. But to his utter dismay, he was left heartbroken due to Pakistan’s loss to arch-rivals India. Despite the feeling of despair, the man didn’t lose hope and attended India’s next T20 World Cup game against the co-hosts USA.
As India qualified for the Super 8 of the tournament, the Pakistani supporter could not contain his excitement as he enthusiastically celebrated the team’s win. Wearing the Pakistan jersey and with flags of India and Pakistan painted on his face, the man spoke to news agency ANI.
“As you all know, I sold my $3000 tractor to watch the India vs Pakistan match. I was very disappointed, but the Indian public supported me a lot, and I received a lot of messages. So I felt like I should watch India’s match against the USA and support the team,” he said.
