In another alarming incident, a dead rat was discovered in the food served at a popular eatery in Ahmedabad. A customer at Devi Dosa restaurant in Nikol reported finding a dead rodent in the sambar they were served. Despite promptly alerting the restaurant staff, no action was taken. Frustrated by the lack of response, the customer took matters into their own hands and informed the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC). In response to the complaint, the Health Department issued a notice to the restaurant’s owner, Alpesh Kevadiya, citing serious health and hygiene violations. As a result, the restaurant was sealed by officials.
The notice from the Health Department reveals disturbing discoveries were made about the restaurant’s hygiene. As per reports, the kitchen space was open, where roadside animals could easily enter, posing a serious threat to food safety. The authorities declared the food unsafe and sealed the premises. They even asked the owner to rectify the issues immediately to avoid further action and penalties. Officials also highlighted the importance of maintaining strict hygiene standards to protect customer’s health.
Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “Always prefer slightly expensive places.”
Another shared, “What health is happening in Gujarat nowadays. Please I request foods and drug department don’t take money under the table and don’t approve such hotels.”
An individual shared, “These days such incidents have increased a lot. Every day 2/3 of places come like this.”
One more suggested, “Seal the hotel.”
Speaking to ANI, Bhavin Joshi, Food Safety Officer, Amdavad Municipal Corporation said, “I appeal to all the business operators of Ahmedabad Corporation to be very careful with the food they serve to the customers so that such incidents can be avoided.”

The family’s suspicions were aroused when they observed an unusually thick consistency in the chocolate syrup they poured. After transferring the syrup into a disposable cup and washing it, their worst fears were confirmed upon closer inspection: they discovered a dead rat inside. Frustrated by the lack of immediate action taken, the family shared their distressing experience. In response, Hershey’s urged them to contact the company directly to resolve the issue promptly.
