Shark Tank India's Former Judge Ashneer Grover Calls Out Show's Tactics For Views
Shark Tank India’s former judge Ashneer Grover recently reshared a post shedding light on how the reality show has been using his name to boost views.

Shark Tank India Season 3 made a splash with a new set of entrepreneurs and the panel now includes 12 sharks, but it’s the OG shark, Ashneer Grover, who continues to grab attention. Known for his straightforward and unfiltered conversations with pitchers, the former judge recently reshared a post shedding light on how the popular business reality show has been using his name to boost views on YouTube. The user had shared a screenshot from the ongoing season from the video sharing platform, revealing that the Shark Tank India team are using #AshneerGrover in their caption to attract more viewers. A quick investigation revealed that several videos on the platform had used his name in the captions, even though he was part of just one season.

For those not aware, Ashneer gained recognition due to his appearance on the first season of the reality show, which quickly became a sensation due to its unique concept. However, the entrepreneur was removed from the show following a fallout with his former company, BharatPe, which he had played a key role in establishing.

In the second season, Amit Jain, founder of Cardekho.com, took over Ashneer’s role. Despite his absence from the show, Ashneer’s popularity went sky high and many fans still express a desire for the makers to bring him back to the panel. Meanwhile, the X user who shared the screenshot of the show YT page, wrote, “#SharkTank using Ashneer Grover name’s for getting views #Doglapan.”

After his removal from Shark Tank India, Ashneer Grover, known for his candid opinions, has taken a number of digs at the showmakers on several occasions. Most recently, when it was announced that there would be six new judges in season 3, Ashneer humorously questioned if they were auditioning for season 4. Not only Ashneer but the audience were also surprised by the development.

The new season has seen debut appearances by Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, OYO founder Ritesh Agarwal and Inshorts CEO Azhar Iqubal. In a recent episode, Edelweiss Capital CEO Radhika Gupta appeared, with Acko General Insurance CEO Varun Dua and UpGrad Co-founder and Chairman Ronnie Screwvala set to follow.

Meanwhile, Anupam Mittal, the Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com, Aman Gupta, Co-Founder of boAt, Namita Thapar, Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Vineeta Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, Peyush Bansal, Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com, along with Amit Jain, have been consistent judges on Shark Tank India. However, apart from Ashneer, Mamaearth CEO Ghazal Alagh too did not return for further seasons.
