Gig workers like Rapido drivers often endure gruelling work schedules and inadequate pay. One might assume they seldom have the energy to go beyond their duties, particularly when it involves turning down rightfully earned income. Yet, for some compassionate souls, generosity flows effortlessly, regardless of the situation. A recent Reddit post highlighting one such considerate Rapido driver is gaining significant appreciation.
On Friday, a Reddit user recounted how she stumbled and fell while walking home from the office, injuring herself. Despite someone witnessing her fall and laughing, they didn’t offer help and moved on. Distressed, the user booked a Rapido ride, and within five minutes, the driver arrived. Observing her condition, the driver expressed concern and learned about her internship during the journey.
When the woman tried to give the driver money, he refused because she was still just an intern. The Reddit user wrote, “I kept insisting but he said ‘when you get your own money then give it to someone who needs it. I try doing one good thing everyday, you are that for me.’” She added that this incident occurred during her second week in Bengaluru and it has shaped her perspective of the city. She concluded the post with, “Kind Rapido Man, I hope all the good things happen to you. I hope life is easier and happier for you. I wish all the good things for you.”

This post has gathered over 1,300 upvotes in just one day. Many people urged the Reddit user to reveal the details of the Rapido driver so they could openly express their appreciation for him.
Someone wrote, “Please pass the name and number of the kind driver. You can DM too, OP. Time for us to reward the kind guy.” Another person suggested, “Hey OP please make a LinkedIn post on this, I’ve seen Rapido respond to these and I think they recognise the efforts of riders that go beyond what’s expected.” Many people also asked the girl to get a precautionary tetanus shot because she had fallen into a drain.
A Reddit user recalled, “These things keep my faith in humanity. Reminds me of a time when a kind stranger offered me a lift on his scooter when he saw me walking with a heavy suitcase. Could not book a cab/auto as my phone had died. I hope I can pass on the good deed, and I hope you do too.”
Another person wrote, “Every place has good and bad people. You happened to meet the good one this time. Keep smiling and sharing positive energy and you will happen to meet more of the good ones.”
