You must have heard the story of Mowgli, the child raised in the jungle who was later found by humans. However, there is a boy who experienced the exact opposite. He went to stay in the jungle, but fate had other plans for him. The boy we are talking about here reportedly ran away from his home to live in a forest in Rwanda. The name of the boy is Zanziman Ellie. He is often referred to as the real-life Mowgli. According to reports, he was called monkey by his known people which forced him to move to the jungle to live with wild animals. Let us know more about the boy in this article.
Zanziman earned the title real-life Mowgli after a documentary about his life was posted on YouTube in 2021. He was compared to Mowgli, the boy raised by wolves in the classic Disney film The Jungle Book, which is how he got the name. Zanziman was forced to run away from home because of some cruel bullies which made his life miserable. He was bullied for his looks. The boy mentioned in a video that he felt bad, so he took the harsh decision.
The documentary was posted on a YouTube channel named Afrimax English. As per the video, Zanziman suffers from a condition called microcephaly. It is a unique condition in which a baby’s head is smaller than expected. However, his life changed when a film crew visited the African country to make a documentary about him. Through the video, he was reunited with his family.
Zanziman is believed to be 25 years old today. His birth year is said to be 1999. The crew of the documentary film also conducted a donation drive for the treatment of the boy. Thousands of people from around the world donated for his fast recovery. In an interview, his mother stated that through this documentary they were able to start a new life.
In footage from 2022, Zanziman can be seen in his school uniform, enjoying his life at home with his mother. His mother described his incredible transformation as nothing short of a miracle. Presently, he does all his work independently and lives a normal life.
