Passenger Grossed Out By Couple Changing Baby’s 'Poopy Diaper' At Their Seat

Contrary to what certain phrases imply, common sense is not particularly common, and basic etiquettes are also not so basic. You may think that people will act courteously in public, but you’d be surprised at how unconcerned some individuals are with being in a public place. This is especially true when flying, as it is difficult to get up and leave if a fellow passenger is bothering you. Sometimes you have to put up with things during the journey. Recently, an airline passenger was horrified when they saw a couple on a Delta aircraft changing their baby’s soiled diaper in their seats.

The traveller described the in-flight event in a Reddit post that was forwarded to the r/delta community. The horrified woman described what she saw as “people in the row in front of me are changing a poopy diaper in their seats,” giving readers an unsanitary picture. “Anyone ever experienced this? The smell is horrendous,” she said, continuing, “There’s no reason not to do this in the bathroom.”

The user then provided two updates on the state of affairs: The user first noted that there were a few vacant seats and moved back a few rows on the aircraft.

Meanwhile, the user had to explain to the flight attendant why she had relocated. The attendant was understandably horrified and thanked the user for alerting her. “The smell was still lingering and I wasn’t going to take the chance of a repeat as this is a 5-hour flight.”

The second update stated that the baby’s father was informed by the flight attendant that the act was “unsanitary” and that he should perform it in the lavatory. Luckily, the father obeyed the advice without becoming offended.

Amid all of this, over 370 Reddit members shared their tips and tactics, with the majority expressing their complete disbelief.

A user noted, “Thank you for the reminder to bring sanitizing wipes on all flights!”

Another added, “Yes people do this all the time because their logic is well it’s just baby poop. POOP IS POOP it’s disgusting to use the damn changing table.”

A person went on to say, “That is so gross and totally inappropriate. Like a biohazard and just really inconsiderate of others.”
