Orange Peel Theory Takes a Juicy Turn as Desis Playfully 'Squeeze' Memes Out of Viral TikTok Trend
Orange peel theory excites Desis on the internet as they can't stop celebrating the viral TikTok trend with hilarious memes and jokes.

We all know that TikTok is the ultimate trendsetter, with its knack for introducing something fresh and exciting on the app. Usually, Desi social media doesn’t readily embrace these trends, but that wasn’t the case with the viral ‘Orange Peel Theory’ making waves since the close of 2023. Fashionably late to the party, this trend recently took a delightfully juicy turn as Desis wasted no time squeezing out memes. Because let’s face it, what’s a viral trend without a cascade of memes? Especially when it seems to be making predictions about the endurance of people’s love relationships.

“Main oranges peel karna chahta hoon” declared one witty comment from an Indian account on ‘X’. Another joined the fun with, “Dads who have been peeling and cutting fruits for years seeing their daughters settle for bare minimum orange peel guys.” The third quipped, “Orange peeling is so easy. lets see who’s wills to peel a pomegranate cause i legit won’t even peel it for myself. like it’s not worth it.” Meanwhile, the fourth contributor exclaimed, “Wtf is peeling oranges id cut onions for you.”

And then, the memes just kept pouring in.

But what exactly is this theory? It’s more than just peeling oranges; it’s a litmus test to determine if your partner is a keeper. This viral test claims to guide lovers, serving as an indicator of genuine love in the relationship. As per a report in the Independent, the theory suggests that if your partner peels your orange without being prompted, it’s a clear sign that they truly love and care for you. While this trend revolves around a seemingly simple act, one can see the theory working through various gestures, be it tying your shoe, starting your car, or even peeling an orange you’re about to devour.

“The orange people theory essentially describes when your partner takes the initiative to do something for you, something you’re perfectly capable of doing on your own,” explains a TikToker.

For instance, if your partner knows you despise opening soda cans and does it without a prompt, they pass the test. Or, during a movie, if you ask your partner to fetch a snack from the kitchen and they willingly jump up to accommodate you, they pass the test.
