'Never Taking Rapido in My Life': Bengaluru Woman Injured in Collision Due to Reckless Rider
Bengaluru woman recounts how a Rapido bike rider's reckless driving left her with minor injuries after colliding with a car.

In a recent incident that caught the attention of many, a software engineer at Google, Amisha Aggarwal, experienced a harrowing accident while riding a taxi bike. Taking to ‘X’, Aggarwal shared photos of her bruised legs following the fall, accompanied by a resolute declaration: “Never taking a Rapido bike again :)” She then recounted the unnerving series of events.

“I booked a Rapido bike on Friday night. The driver was driving at a high speed and not following rules. At Outer Ring Road, Kadubeesanahalli, he suddenly took a turn to enter the service lane without indicator,” she began. The car behind them couldn’t react in time, causing a collision. The bike lost balance, sending both rider and passenger tumbling onto the busy road.

Adding to the ordeal, the bike rider, who was at fault, offered no assistance. “The rider completed the trip and ran away without taking me to a clinic/hospital.” Instead, it was the car driver who came to Aggarwal’s aid.

“The car driver gave me first aid. He stayed till my friends arrived at the scene. The car driver was really apologetic, though it wasn’t his fault. I can only thank God that I was wearing a good quality helmet (as opposed to the cheap helmets these riders usually give), and was hence saved from major injury,” she noted.

Rapido’s customer care advised Aggarwal to file an insurance claim, which she plans to do. “I don’t have anything against Rapido, but the bike riders usually drive very recklessly, and I’d advise everyone to avoid booking two wheelers if they love their life,” Aggarwal concluded.

Her post quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions. One user commented, “Considering the driving skills of majority people in India bike aggregators will fall in the worst category with risk percentage ‘Living on the edge.’” Another shared, “I also had some bad experience and I think no one should book a bike.” A third person expressed, “That looks pretty bad, hope you recover soon.”
